Remember that internet marketing is still in its infancy

My first thought as brainstormed ideas for this week’s post was to write a counter-point to the guest post that Branko wrote over at Aaron’s blog. For a part-time blogger, Neil Patel is pretty successful.

Patel?s main focus is KISSmetrics, a mid-sized company that helps businesses track important online metrics. His business and marketing blog, Quick Sprout, is really more of a side project.

But that hasn?t stopped Quick Sprout from exploding in popularity and earning Patel recognition as a Top 100 Technorati Blogger. I?ll profile Neil Patel below and explain how Quick Sprout helps him earn a million dollars a year even though turning a profit was never part of the plan.

How do artists, inventors, and entrepreneurs raise money for their big ideas?

Increasingly, the answer is crowdfunding. As the Internet becomes a faster, friendlier, and better-connected place, it has never been easier to raise large amounts of money online.

Though it?s only available in The United States so far, Kickstarter recently announced that they?ll be expanding to the UK in fall 2012.

How To Sleep Deeper, Wake Up Earlier & Become Superhuman

“Mom? 5 more minutes” sound familiar? I love to sleep. In fact, I love to sleep so much I think this is the main reason I got out of the military and eventually started my own business. I am one of those people that set their alarms earlier just so I can hit snooze three or four times? at least I was. Is Snooze Slowly Killing You? Maybe “kill” is too strong of a word, or maybe it’s not. But let’s define killing you. Have you ever noticed when you hit snooze you wake up more tired, get less done, have a foul attitude towards life, and are generally just not at your peak performance? Have you noticed this effects your business, fitness, and most importantly your relationships? Or the fact that you get the recommended allowance of 7 to 9 hours recommended by just about everyone? but never feel [...]

How to Write Epic Blog Posts that Rank Well

I started writing for Income Diary one year ago.

Through 34 posts, I?ve learned a lot about writing great online content ? particularly content that ranks well with search engines. I?m proud to say that many of my articles show up on Google?s front page (for terms like ?great thoughts? and ?Steve Jobs life lessons?).

I?m here to share with you what I know about doing just that. You too can write epic blog posts that rank on Google?s front page for popular keywords.

With every passing year, the topic of “social media influencers” gains momentum. Ultimate Guide: How to Make a Successful Kickstarter Campaign

How do artists, inventors, and entrepreneurs raise money for their big ideas?

Increasingly, the answer is crowdfunding. As the Internet becomes a faster, friendlier, and better-connected place, it has never been easier to raise large amounts of money online.

Kickstarter is the website leading the pack. Since launching in April 2009, 26 million people have joined Kickstarter, together pledging over $328 million dollars to 28,000 projects. Though it?s only available in The United States so far, Kickstarter recently announced that they?ll be expanding to the UK in fall 2012.

Follow-up Study: The Best Citation Sources by Category

I'm excited to announce a follow-up to the last GetListed.org/Whitespark.ca study (Best Citation Sources by City) this morning: the Best Citation Sources by Category for U.S. businesses. As with the previous study, Darren and I used his Local Citation Finder tool and looked at some of the most common keywords within 70 local search categories across 53 large US cities, 20 medium-sized cities, and 20 smaller cities. We then scored the sites inversely based on ranking position combined with overall number of occurrences. The sites that appeared most often and with the highest rankings were deemed ?best? within each category.

Blogger Profile: How Neil Patel Makes Millions with Quick Sprout

For a part-time blogger, Neil Patel is pretty successful.

Patel?s main focus is KISSmetrics, a mid-sized company that helps businesses track important online metrics. His business and marketing blog, Quick Sprout, is really more of a side project.

But that hasn?t stopped Quick Sprout from exploding in popularity and earning Patel recognition as a Top 100 Technorati Blogger. I?ll profile Neil Patel below and explain how Quick Sprout helps him earn a million dollars a year even though turning a profit was never part of the plan.
